How it works
Add the extension to Chrome or Firefox. No account, no signup.
Popup, right-click menu, or keys 1–5. Pick notebook and tags inline.
Per-site rules route repeat sources; duplicates warn before re-clipping.
First clip pairs securely with your desktop over a private loopback token.
Your clips go to 127.0.0.1 — your computer — not our servers.
Questions
Do I need the Nowted desktop app running?
Yes. The extension delivers clips to Nowted on your own computer (http://127.0.0.1:4567). No desktop app, nowhere to deliver to — the clip simply waits in the offline queue.
Where do my clips land?
In your Inbox by default, or wherever your per-site rules say. Duplicates get a warning before you clip twice.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome and Firefox at launch. The same build runs on Edge, Brave and other Chromium browsers. Safari follows via Apple's converter.
What does it cost?
Free. No account, no subscription for clipping.
What data leaves my machine?
Page content goes to 127.0.0.1 — your own computer — never to our servers. You can additionally pair the extension with a private token in Settings → Web Clipper.
File the web. Keep your mind.
Free forever for personal use.
